  • Pink Cab, a student-run OU organization, offers safe rides on demand for women-identifying students via a GroupMe messaging system. The service charges $5 within a 5-mile radius of College Green and is led by President Riley Barton (and VP Cameryn Williams), with busy weekends priced at $8.  The Post

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ohio University career services & business classes offer resume-building tools with personalized coaching, assignments and networking sessions for students to highlight all work experience with proper context. Career experts say strong resumes present not only job roles but also transferable skills that can boost applications in diverse fields.  The Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Athens County commissioners proclaimed March as Developmental Disability Awareness Month in the county after the Board of Developmental Disabilities requested the designation. The measure is designed to boost awareness and support for developmental disabilities in the community.  The Athens Messenger
  • Athens County Children Services has made steady progress on its new building that will be finished in fall 2026. Construction started last year and the project is designed to enhance services for local kids + families.  The Athens Messenger
  • Community groups shared multiple updates this week. Athens City County General Health District released its financial audit for 2023 to 2024 and Ohio University published an athletics procedures report, while the Ohio Dept. of Transportation started a U.S. 33 expansion with lane closures until 2028 and Nelsonville Public Square remains partly closed.  Athens County Independent

HEALTH NEWS

  • NAMI Athens and Memorial Health System have partnered to train hospital staff in Athens County to improve mental health care. The collaboration will help boost patient support.  The Athens Messenger
  • Dr. Jody Gerome (of OhioHealth Physicians Group in Athens) said updated research and recent FDA approvals are giving women safer, personalized options for managing menopause symptoms. She advises local women to consult trusted providers about choices between modern hormonal and non-hormonal treatments.  Athens County Independent

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ohio recovered from a loss to Miami in a second-half comeback on Tuesday to beat Ball State at home. Aidan Hadaway led the surge with 18 points, and coach Jeff Boals praised Jackson Paveletzke for closing the game as the team prepares for a weekend road contest versus Northern Illinois.  The Post
