EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ohio University has announced four finalists for the Scripps College dean search and will host open forums and receptions at Schoonover 145 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on March 23, March 25, April 2 and April 9 + the sessions will allow community members to ask questions.  Ohio University
  • The History Department will host the annual Lazaroff Memorial Lecture in Jewish history on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in Baker University Center (240/242), where Dr. Joanna Sliwa will deliver her talk and a free pre-lecture reception will begin at 6 p.m.  Ohio University
  • University Libraries is hosting an Art + Feminism Wikidata edit-a-thon today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at room 319, Alden Library to add data on underrepresented female and non-binary artists, including a focus on fiber artist Sara Gilfert (who founded a nonprofit papermaking studio in 2002).  The Post
  • Ohio University will host a retirement reception for Wendy Merb-Brown on Tuesday, Mar. 31 at the Walter Hall Rotunda from 3:30 to 5 p.m. as colleagues and community members gather to honor her 34 years of service.  Ohio University
  • Ohio University is updating Alden Library to add eight themed floors with a rooftop lounge and new study spaces designed by Perkins Eastman — with master planning from Aug 2025 to June 2026 and phased construction targeted for 2030 while parts of the library stay open.  The Post
