🎓 Education
The entire WOUB NewsWatch staff won Best All-Around Television Newscast for the Sept.
27 episode at the SPJ 2024 Mark of Excellence Awards in Region 4—four Ohio University students were also named winners or finalists for their work in the WOUB Public Media newsroom. Regional winners will advance to the national competition.
🌲 Environment
April will be Athens Beautification Month as residents and OU Bobcats join projects to clean up, plant trees & garden, helping to improve the town’s green spaces.
A litter cleanup at Strouds Run State Park will continue on April 19 & 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while tree plantings will be held at Vinton Furnace State Forest on April 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
