- ➤ The Love Light Movement is offering free meals from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Piggly Wiggly (70 N. Plains Rd.) in Athens, and the initiative, led by an Ohio University student, also delivers food to The Plains, Chauncey, Jacksonville and Glouster. The Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Parents United for Public Schools held a town hall at the Athens Public Library Tuesday evening to explain school funding cuts and discuss forming local chapters. The event ended with a call to action and a strategy meeting planned for Tuesday, April 21 (to outline next steps). The Post
- ➤ On March 31, more than 100 Ohio University social work students attended Advocacy Day at the Vern Riffe Center in downtown Columbus, where they engaged with state legislators on issues including paid internships and regulation of artificial intelligence in behavioral health (a $5,000 grant helped cover travel costs). - ➤ The Bobcats won two of three games in Oxford in a midweek softball series against Miami RedHawks, where strong comebacks drove wins in games one and two before a late slump in game three, and the team now returns to Athens to face Bowling Green soon. The Post
