- ➤ Senior pianist Alejandro Orta, originally from Venezuela, said his journey came full circle when he interviewed conductor Gustavo Dudamel as part of his senior capstone project at Ohio University. - ➤ ABC 6 Chief Meteorologist Marshall McPeek recalled his busy time at WOUB at Ohio University in Athens—he worked long hours on radio and TV as a student and said this hands-on experience helped launch his career in broadcasting. WOUB Public Media
- ➤ High school students who love to create media can register for a hands-on summer workshop hosted by Ohio University's Scripps College of Communication from June 25th to 29th; eligible students include those entering grades 9-12 and recent graduates seeking an on-campus experience. - ➤ Ohio University will break ground on the new Violet L. Patton Center for Arts Education Monday, April 21 at 4 p.m. in McCracken Field behind Patton Hall during a public ceremony. The center, part of a renewal plan for the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts, will include a 350+ seat theater and gallery spaces and will be completed by Summer 2026 with students moving in Fall 2027.
