Good morning, Athens.

From Tuesday, April 21 to Sunday, April 26, various civic meetings will take place in Athens and nearby communities, featuring a play lab, recovery sessions, survivor support, and a group run at venues like The Nest (217 Columbus Road) and the Health Department (278 W.

A resident urged officials to add a sidewalk along the Athens end of SR 682 to improve pedestrian safety near key local spots, noting that people traverse the road next to 35-45 mph traffic and that 50 accidents occurred in 2025 — including one death.

Athens locals celebrated 4/20 on April 20 when several dispensaries offered special deals on cannabis products.

Mavuno on 711 W. Union St. provided 30% to 40% off most items (additional discounts applied with higher purchases).
