CULTURE NEWS

  • The Crane Wives performed at the Ohio University Music Industry Summit in Athens last week as part of the first leg of their three-act tour. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ohio University student Ava Wood received the statewide Charles J. Ping Student Service Award for her leadership in community service and sustainability efforts. The honor recognizes her work with campus partners + local organizations in providing prom dresses and school supplies+ volunteer initiatives.  Ohio University
  • Ohio University Eastern student Brianna Merkel passed her nursing boards and accepted an Emergency Department role at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital—her clinical training and faculty mentorship stand out.   • OHIO alumna Jasmine Lastery-Butler joined the Voinovich School Advisory Board today to guide current students toward public service careers. She credits her work in Rep. SPORTS NEWS

  • Strouds Run State Park will offer sport climbing in early summer as park leaders and volunteers prepare six new routes plus install bolts, trails and signage for safety. The move aims to give local climbers easier access to a sport that could boost tourism and outdoor recreation.  WOUB Public Media
  • Ohio’s softball team swept Kent State on the road this past weekend with three dominant wins that marked their sixth straight series victory and first MAC sweep of the season; the Bobcats will now host the Akron Zips for their final home game.  The Post
