- ➤ The United Seniors of Athens County will host its annual Senior Day at the Athens Community Center on May 15, offering local seniors a chance to gather and enjoy planned activities. The Athens Messenger
- ➤ Community meetings ran from Monday through Sunday across Athens & Amesville; today includes a poetry group at the library and recovery support at the Health Department, while upcoming events feature chair yoga, toddler play, veteran support, pancake breakfast and meditation at various local venues. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Athens Porchfest will feature free live music, food trucks, art shows and family activities across neighborhoods from Friday, May 15 until Sunday, May 17. New events include a Friday kickoff tribute at Athena Cinema with cover charges for later evening performances. Athens County Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Athens HOPE is a community-led coalition that brings local groups together to reduce substance use disorder stigma and share vital treatment resources with residents. The group, which began in 2017, holds bimonthly meetings (with about 40 attendees each) and welcomes anyone interested in joining its efforts. The Post
