- ➤ Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, visited Ohio’s Athens campus during the Global Arts Festival International Conference and delivered a keynote speech on art, culture and innovation (drawing on Ghanaian symbols to stress creative collaboration) while meeting with students and faculty. - ➤ Ohio University students and researchers in Athens are using the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) to run complex projects, including medical simulations and AI art. - ➤ Athens resident Natalie Wilson and the Southeast Ohio Natural Burial Working Group held a May 20 presentation at The Plains Public Library to share natural burials (using traditional methods) as an eco-friendly, low-cost alternative; private land burials can cost as little as $10 (compared to $8,000 for full service).
