- ➤ Public meetings are scheduled from June 16 through June 23 in Athens and nearby areas, including sessions for county bodies, city councils, and other boards. - ➤ Athens County officials said that after years of overcrowding, the inmate count at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail has declined — a change that could reduce state funding and strain local budgets.
