- ➤ Bert (a 5-year-old beagle mix weighing 36 lbs) was found on Sweat Rd in Amesville on July 18th and is now ready for adoption at the Athens County Dog Shelter. He loves going on walks and is best with dogs and people so adopters should keep him away from cats and small animals. Athens County Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Young 4-H members in Athens County had their projects judged on July 14 and 15, with awards given in the Still Project, Clothing, Cake Decorating and Food & Nutrition categories. The results highlighted winners from many clubs — showing the hard work and dedication of local youth. Athens County Independent
- ➤ Library STEM Days have brought more than 50 children to sessions that teach engineering design, electrical circuitry, and energy—activities run by Ohio University’s Voinovich School. Funded by grants from the DOE Office of Environmental Management Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office and the AEP Foundation—these sessions offer free, hands-on learning for kids in Southeast Ohio.
