- ➤ On Monday night, Athens City Council spent over two hours discussing new fee proposals for permits, parking, sewer and rental units that will be finalized at a future meeting—they also planned to sell two city homes to the local Housing Authority and change the parking garage from metered service to a ticket-and-gate system, with renovations starting next month and expected to finish by December. - ➤ At its Aug. 11 meeting, Nelsonville City Council appointed Dakota Saul as auditor, McCray Powell as treasurer, and Wesley Henderson as council member—appointments made after two resignations and a planned departure.
