- ➤ Local farmers and business operators in Athens have suffered crop losses and reduced profits due to intense summer rainfall causing flash floods and damaged fields—Attican Farms lost multiple crops and Dutch Creek Winery faced production delays. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Christi Camper Moore, Ph.D. of the Arts Administration program at Chaddock — Morrow College of Fine Arts attended the 2024 Assessment Institute to gain tools for better academic and statewide evaluations and later served as a subject expert for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, updating test items and course assessments; her work is expected to guide future curricular improvements. - ➤ Wendy Kalinowski, an OHIO graduate and long-time Athens staff member, is named assistant director of financial aid advising at OHIO Eastern and Zanesville and will help students and families understand aid options—her 31 years of local experience make her well suited for the role.
