- ➤ Ohio University Professor Ryan Fogt explained that record heat and high humidity in June and July made the weather very muggy across the eastern U.S.—with some cities seeing dew points more than 6°F above normal, conditions that experts linked to climate change. Fogt, who also runs local weather stations in Athens, noted that warm air from nearby oceans was a major factor in these extremes. Ohio University
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Former Equitas Health employee Ivory Davolio filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination and unfair pay compared to white coworkers, claiming she raised concerns over pay and was placed on leave before being terminated on August 3. The suit, filed in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, seeks past and future wages and $50,000 in damages — the case follows earlier reports of discrimination at the health center on Stimson Avenue.
