Ohio University's College of Fine Arts and several departments are asking creative researchers, teachers and artists to submit proposals for the Global Arts International Conference on Spectrums of Creativity, set for March 17-19, 2026.
Submissions are open on a rolling basis until Dec. 15 and must include papers, roundtables, workshops or creative projects — the event will feature keynote Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie and is expected to host 500 to 700 people.
A freshman at Ohio University warned that campus wildlife is at risk from littering, reckless driving, and feeding, noting that over 800 deer crashes have occurred since 2018—actions that harm the campus environment.
She urged students to clean up after events and drive carefully to protect the living creatures among them.
Athens city officials discussed two zoning proposals on Monday to allow three temporary housing shelters near The Gathering Place.
Some residents expressed safety concerns while supporters believe the shelters may help the vulnerable—public hearings are set for Sept. 22 to review the proposals.
