Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 15th of October.
Good morning, Athens.
🎓 Education
Ohio University has positioned itself as a leader in esports education and career training as Director Jeff Kuhn explained that the Esports Arena gives students hands-on broadcasting experience—using tools like a new LED video wall to build real-world skills.
The program blends classroom learning with live tournament work to prepare students for careers in the growing $4 billion esports industry.
Alumni donations boosted student learning at OHIO as the Russ College Bobcat Baja Project Support Fund helped the Bobcat Baja SAE team build an off-road buggy for competition.
The fund raised about $2,700 — enough for nearly nine team members to travel and attend summer work weekends that strengthened their hands-on engineering skills.
