Good morning, Athens.

On Saturday, protestors gathered on East State Street in Athens to join the nationwide No Kings protests, with over 1,600 attending—local demonstrators reported that the event remained peaceful with no arrests made.

A lifelong Athens resident backed the proposed Conestoga hut location in an open letter, saying its site at The Gathering Place will reduce risks compared to busy uptown nights.

He said the plan will offer a hand up for homeless residents while keeping good ties with the university + local community.
