- ➤ Athens County local Gregg Montella plans to open a grocery store in Albany that will offer affordable, locally grown food and hold public meetings for community input—he is restoring an old building that needs about $200K in repairs for refrigeration and air conditioning. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ OHIO University's Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment has created a new framework for AI literacy using four parts of critical thinking to guide how teachers and students work with AI tools. The framework helps faculty and students write and read about AI, choose applications, and address ethical issues — vital steps for learning about AI. Ohio University
- ➤ Thirty-nine undergraduate students have been accepted into the fall Law, Justice & Culture certificate program at Ohio University—an interdisciplinary program offering core courses and 47 electives that help students explore law, rights advocacy, and public policy. Ohio University
- ➤ Athens High School students launched an independent publication called the Atomic Cougar Press Association, which offers free print and online papers covering local and national news. The team also started a podcast—interviewing Gov. Mike DeWine—to expand its reach. Athens County Independent

- ➤ Gary Allen graduated from OHIO’s Master of Public Administration program in 2019 and served in the Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard before returning to teach human resources and public administration at OHIO.
