- ➤ Athens Local Drive Thru now hosts a large free food refrigerator where residents can pick up or donate perishable items to help ease food insecurity intensified by a recent lapse in SNAP benefits—customers can drop off or access items daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 748 E. State St. The Post
- ➤ Athens residents gathered on Sunday afternoon at Tony's Tavern at 7 W. State St. at 1 p.m. to enjoy unlimited soup and support Rising Suns Non-Profit Pharmacy by paying a $10 fee and dropping off extra donations; the third Souper-Bowl brought regulars and newcomers together to raise funds for a local pharmacy that provides needed medications. - ➤ The Nelsonville Water Department issued a boil order due to a water main break repair along Poplar Street from Walnut Street to Chestnut Street, Rhine Street, Seine Street and near 1230 Chestnut Street — residents must boil water for three minutes before use until noon Thursday, Nov 20. - ➤ Ohio men's basketball will host Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Convo — the team will try to build on recent tough games as it faces a strong HBCU led by high-scoring guard Arterio Morris. The Post
- ➤ Ohio wrestling hosted the No. 21 Wisconsin Badgers on November 16 in Athens. The Bobcats were shut out early but fought back in three matches before falling 27—10 in the end. WOUB Public Media
- ➤ On November 16th, the Ohio Bobcats beat the Maryville Saints by a score of 3 to 1—Lance Mengel scored the game-winning goal to keep the team undefeated at home.
