The Post reports the levy would have run 10 years, from 2027 to 2037, and replaced three current levies. Administrator Jack Pepper had said it would raise about $1.52 million a year, up from roughly $1.15 million. The Post also reports he acknowledged the ballot's "new levy, additional dollars" wording would likely give voters pause.
